I did some quick price matching on my shopping trip to Wal-Mart this afternoon.
The key for me to do this and not feel like I am going to throw up with nerves is by picking the nicest looking checker. I don't mean this in a beauty contest sort of way, but more in a "Who will be the nicest to me?" sort of way.
I have no idea who this girl is, but see what I mean? She looks nice. Patient. She will coo at my daughter and when I tell her I have coupons she says things like "I do that too! That is SO great!" Totally pushing my luck but you know what I mean.
I had printed out a TON of coupons from here last night and had a few clipped from my binder as well...so when combining that with store flyers, it can start to feel confusing if you are fairly new to couponing.
(I'm still a novice, for only doing this about 6 months now!)
Was it worth it? You decide...
6 Tubes Colgate toothpaste
Wal-Mart Price: 97 cents
I paid: 88 cents
6 loaves Grandma Sycamore Bread
Wal-Mart Price: $2.00
I paid: $1.66
6 packages baby wipes
Wal-Mart Price: $1.97
I paid: 88 cents
10 boxes 16 oz asst Barilla Pasta
Wal-Mart Price: $1.37
I paid: 88 cents
So just by bringing in another stores flyer, I was able to stock up on a few items I needed and for our food storage. With little effort I had about a 35% savings!
It's the 2nd birthday of Swagbucks TODAY!! If you haven't joined Swagbucks yet, today is the perfect day to sign up to become a Swagbucks member!!
If you are already a Swagbucks member, you'll notice that beginning today, the Swag Bucks in your account have been multiplied by 10; for example, if you had 20 swag bucks in your account, you will now have 200 Swag bucks. I sort of freaked out when I first saw that but there is info about the change here.
It used to be, on any other day, new members of Swagbucks would earn 3 Swag bucks upon registration, but today new members will earn 30 Swag bucks!!
For all of you that are already members of Swagbucks, there are plenty of other chances to earn!! Throughout the day, Swagbucks will be doing Swag Code giveaways on their blog, twitter, facebook page, and just for searching the web through Swagbucks!
This is my #1 way to pay for Christmas this year...it's SO nice to have it NOT come out of our paycheck..so if you have been tempted to sign up before, you will for SURE want to look into it now!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 23rd, while I am slaving away getting ready for our Cub Scout Pack's Blue and Gold dinner, I want each of you to go over to IHOP and get yourself some free pancakes! It goes from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.!
They ask that you donate to the Children's Miracle Network in place of paying for your short stack, but it's not necessary. (Although, really? I totally would...)
Rumor on the street (ha ha....how lame of me) is that Wal-Mart has their Sara Lee pies on rollback to $1.00!!
Go here to get your $1.00 Sara Lee coupon and get a pie for free! Don't forget you can hit the backbutton on your browser and print this twice!
UPDATE:I went this morning and my Wal-Mart did not have these on Rollback. It seems like my Wal-Mart is always a week or two behind on some of these deals I see on other blogs. So I'm keeping my eyes open and I'll let you know when/if it happens! Make sure you print the coupons out NOW though before they disappear!
Normally these sell for $1.57 each at my Wal-Mart so you could grab these for only .82 cents with the new coupon out! We love Lunchables around here, especially Graham (hooray for easy school lunches!) so I was super excited to see this coupon offered.
Target has all of their Valentine items for 50% today!
I saw a lot of darling things, but stuck to just a few..sales don't save you anything if you are constantly buying things you don't even need!
I got the boys their class Valentine's for next year - $1.39 a box. I buy these ahead for the price and for the fact that February is crazy at our house. The boys write their Valentine's out in January, I bag them up and then they are ready to grab the morning of their class party.
Zero stress = fun mom and happy kids.
Cute tissue paper - $1.00 per bunch.
Fun shirt for LuLu - might be a tad too big next February but for $2.99 she can wear it anytime I think!

(What is the lesser evil of this sentence, that I am A) Buzzing somewhere or B) calling a Wal-Mart of any sort "MINE")
Anyhow...I noticed in November that they had cute little girl dresses. $18.00. Not a bad price for a cute dress, right? And then in January they were $9.00.
Tempting but eh...I am cheap these days and with a weakness for dresses...LuLu has WAY too many. She did NOT need another dress.
But how could I pass up this?
I got it in a 4T and figure if it doesn't fit her around Christmastime then that plaid sash is being ripped right off and being replaced with a hot pink somethingorother and a big hot pink flower with it.
They still had a lot left on the racks..might be worth a quick trip to have a look!
